Nissan Unveils Their “Best of 2015” Year-End Review

Nissan IDS Concept

Nissan is reflecting on a monumental year that saw the debut of several new redesigned cars, a “New Class” of pickup in the 2016 Titan and a new IDS autonomous vehicle concept, just to name a few. As a leading Nissan dealer in Surprise, we’ve taken a look at some of the most impressive cars, ideas and projects to come out of Nissan this year.

New “Energetic Flow” Vehicle Designs

The 2016 Altima, Maxima and Sentra all debuted this year with Nissan’s all-new “Energetic Flow” design language. This new design scheme featured new front and rear fascias that boasted updated head- and taillights, a new grille and updated wheels. The sedans also received updated cabins that featured new technology and convenience amenities, as well as more premium materials. Nissan hopes to continue updating its full line of cars, trucks and SUVs with this bold new design language in the coming years.

A “New Class” of Full-Size Pickups

The all-new Nissan Titan XD premiered this year as well, showcasing a whole new way of looking at the very competitive full-size pickup market. The new XD features a grand new design that falls beautifully between both the light- and heavy-duty pickups in its segment. This year alone the 2016 Titan XD has been named a North American Truck/Utility of the Year finalist and the 2015 Truck of Texas.

A Vision of the Future with IDS Concept

Once again, Nissan showed why it was at the top of the autonomous vehicle game with the introduction of the Nissan IDS Concept. A future vision of autonomous and electric vehicles, the IDS Concept wowed fans and critics alike at the Toyota Motor Show this fall. The new concept car combines advanced vehicle control and safety with a very impressive artificial intelligence component. A proto-type for the kinds of self-driving cars Nissan is planning on creating, the IDS Concept was a truly exciting milestone.

“Fastest Rising Automotive Brand”

This year’s Interbrand Study named Nissan as the “Fastest Rising Automotive Brand” in the world. Jumping from a rank of 90 in 2010 to 49 in 2015, Interbrand said this was one of the most impressive examples of growth it’s seen in years. Thanks to Nissan’s commitment to the growing electric vehicle market, as well as its increased interest in new technologies, we know we’ll see Nissan jump even more spots on next year’s list.

LEAF Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

The Nissan LEAF continues to be one of the bestselling electric cars in the world. This year, the automaker celebrated that success by giving the LEAF a more advanced powertrain that can now go up to 107 miles on electric power alone. This new powertrain will surely continue the LEAF’s ranking as a leading member of its class.
