Want to see a pretty great – no scratch that – freaking awesome display of driving prowess? Take a look at the video below to see stunt driver Terry Grant take the Nissan Juke RS – available now at your Surprise Nissan dealer – for one impressive ride. The stunt happened at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in England and is truly on of the most scary, awesome and oh-my-god-how-is-he-doing-that moments of driving you’ll ever see.
The Goodwood Festival is known for its spectacles of stunt driving, showing off the various mechanical wonders of that year’s “it” cars. This year was different though, as the Juke RS debuted not only with a strong crowd reaction, but also with this outstanding piece of showmanship. The stunt was meant to break an existing world record for a car driven on two wheels and the compact crossover did you just that: driving over 1.16 miles in just 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
What really makes this trick so impressive isn’t just that Grant steered the powerful crossover on two wheels, but that he did it on a twisting and uneven path, at 30 miles per hour no less. I don’t know about you but my driving skills get a little iffy heading down a winding road on all four wheels. I can’t imagine navigating down such a path on just two of them.
People all over the car industry have been singing the praises of the stunt, calling out the Juke’s power, agility and exceptional suspension. Funnily enough, Autoblog found the British announcers at Goodwood to also be quite entertaining; listen carefully below as they drone on about the stunt “as if they were talking about the weather.” Digital Trends called out Grant’s exceptional driving skills, praising his ability to drive the car one-handed (he had to prop himself up with the other hand while he drove), as well as his ability to consistently adjust the vehicle’s steering angle.
The Juke RS’ massively successful outing was only buoyed by the debut of the Juke-R 2.0 – the newest version of the extremely popular and extremely powerful cross-breed. Power junkies have already succumb to the warm embrace of the Juke-R, which boasts the quirky and fun aspects of the regular Nissan Juke, but adds the power and agility of the Nissan GT-R supercar. Nissan is pumping even more power into the crossover’s newest model, imbuing it with a highly-impressive engine that produces an astonishing 600 horsepower.
“Based on the updated Nissan Juke launched in 2014 which features several significant design and technical enhancements, the Juke-R 2.0 has been injected with further levels of GT-R testosterone to now reach 600hp,” Nissan crowed recently. “Still sporting the iconic ‘R’ matt black, the Juke-R 2.0 is an even more muscular, bolder and powerful version of its predecessor.”
Check out the video below to see the Juke make its record-shattering run.
